The dates for Downtown Restaurant Week have been announced and we are ready to welcome new and old friends through our doors for a unique dining experience! Downtown Restaurant Week will be held Monday, August 12 through Sunday, August 18th. That means one full week to explore the fabulous downtown restaurants in Raleigh, and multiple dining occasions during lunch and dinner! So whether you are planning to dine indoors in our authentic Taverna, or want the ambiance of our lush, Mediterranean garden rooftop terrace, you have the opportunity to visit with us throughout the week so as to not miss out!

LUNCH MENU 

2-COURSE LUNCH // $10 Per Person

ROASTED VEGETABLE MYKONOS
Roasted eggplant, green peppers, spinach, mushrooms, feta, onions, tomato, leeks tossed in a white wine lemon cream sauce

GYRO, CHICKEN OR PORK SOUVLAKI
PLATTER
Served with tzatziki, Greek Village Salad, and Taverna fries

BAKLAVA
Layers of phyllo pastry, walnuts, sugar,
cinnamon and nutmeg

 

DINNER MENU

1ST COURSE CHOOSE 1
BRAISED LAMB TIP HUMMUS
House-braised lamb tips in a tomato
red wine sauce over our housemade
hummus. Served with pita points

GREEK VILLAGE WATERMELON SALAD
Watermelon tossed in our housemade
Greek vinaigrette topped with cucumber,
red onion, green peppers, Kalamata
olives and crumbled feta cheese

2ND COURSE CHOOSE 1
PORK SOUVLAKI
Skewered pork with vegetables. Served
with rice pilaf, tzatziki, and pita

BAKLAVA CHEESECAKE

New York style-cheesecake with baklava
LEMON CHICKEN SOUP Avgolemono
A traditional soup with chicken and rice,
finished with whipped eggs and lemon

TRADITIONAL ROMAINE SALAD
Fresh green onions, tossed in housemade
lemon-dill vinaigrette and topped with dill,
freshly grated Mizithra cheese. Served with
crostini

SPICY SHRIMP SIFROS
Linguini tossed in a spicy tomato relish,
white wine, onions, Kalamata olives and
crumbled feta cheese topped with shrimp

MOUSSAKA
Layers of roasted eggplant, seasoned ground
beef, and thin sliced potatoes, topped with
béchamel sauce. Served with vegetables

LIMONCELLO CAKE
Lemon cake with lemon cream frosting

More Than Just Dinner or Lunch

We welcome our guests to experience the true flavors of Greek cooking. But at Taverna Agora, we are more than just a restaurant. We offer a culinary and cultural experience for those that come through our blue door. We aim to take you away from the hustle of downtown Raleigh, and to a relaxing atmosphere, resembling a Taverna you would find in a small village in Greece. If dining al fresco on our rooftop, you can imagine sitting on a beautiful terrace in one of the Greek Isles, surrounded by lush greenery and blooming flowers.
